20.11.08 : Saved by a goal in the last second!

THW started perfectly the match, leading with 4:0 after 6 minutes. The hosts needed 7 minutes to score their first goal, but they came back in the game due especially to the magnificent saves of their goalkeeper Petr Stochl. Taking advantage of the weak performance showed by their rival in the attack, the home squad made it even twice: 9:9 (20.)und 11:11 (28.), but a goal from Nikola and another one from Stefan Lövgren assured Kiel an unexpected narrow margin after 30 minutes: 13:11.
After 36 minutes die "Füchse" celebrated not only their first their first lead, 15:14, but also an unbelivable lead by 5 goals (19:14, 41.) and even by six goals 22:16 (45.), 23:17 (46.). Noka Serdarusic took a time-out at 18:14, but his team showed no reaction, that´s why he changed three players of his starting seven. Mattias Andersson came in for Omeyer, Lund took Jicha´s place in the defence and Szilagyi replaced Lövgren as playmaker. With 12 minutes to go, their team was down by six, 24:18, but it was not at all dead. Matze Andersson saved decisive throws, Vid Kavticnik scored twice from the 7 m line and with 5 minutes to go there was only one goal difference between the two team: 25:24.
Szilagyi was the one who leveled it twice, for 25:25 and 26:26, and in the last second he assumed again the responsibility and scored the winning goal. A wonderfull one in a dramatic game who could bring Nikos and his teammates the 14th domestic league title.
"We knew that it will be difficult because Berlin performs good and had a strong goalie, but we didn´t imagine that it will be so difficult to win. Stochl saved everything, that was incredible. In the first half, we defended good, in the second half also, but in attack we missed too many chances. We must thank Viktor and Mattias for our comeback in the end ", said Nikola after the game for hbl.tv.
