The dispute was a good test for the Champions League clash against Barcelona next Sunday. Kiel took the control over the game from the beginning and even if the hosts came closer to 5:4/9., after they were down by 4 goals, the visitors encountered no difficulties to win.
Titi Omeyer showed again his class, the "couple" Stefan Lövgren - Marcus Ahlm had their usual "two men show" and the backs players Filip Jicha and Kim Andersson "bombed" the rival goalkeeper with their shots. And if we add to all this the infernal pace set by THW on fastbreak and on the second wave, there is no wonder that at the halfbreak the game was practically over.
In the second half, the guests extended their lead and rotate their roster in the end, while Wetzlar fought to reduce the gap as much as possible. Happily for them, the Zebras missed 4 shots from 7 meter line and helped them indirectly, otherwise the difference would have been bigger...
