20.11.08 : The first obstacle is down: win over Lemgo

"The draw in Hamburg allows us to have our destiny in own hands. If we will win the last six games, we are champions. If we will not win them, then we don´t deserve the title. The challenge is big, even hot because we have two difficult matches on the home soil, against Lemgo and Göppingen, and a dangerous away encounter in Göppingen", said Nikola today, just before the dispute against Lemgo.
Despite a stumble beginning, when they were down, 0:3 after 4 minutes, Niko and his teammates began slowly to control the game. Nikola was the one who scored Kiel´s first goal after 9 minutes and after Omeyer saved earlier a fastbreak goal who would have meant the 0:4. A combination between Nikola and Marcus Ahlm made it even, 6:6 after 14 minutes, and a shot from 7 meter line by Kim Andersson gave THW the lead: 7:6. In the second part of the first half, the hosts extended their advance until 4 goals (15:11), but in the half time they took a three goals margin in their favour: 15:12. Niko performed very well in the first half, scoring 6 goals.
In the second half, the players coached by Markus Baur remained dangerous, but the German champions found always the right answer in every difficult situation. For example, Omeyer avoided that the opponent came closer to only one goal difference, saving Hegemanns´shot at 17:15 and Kim Andersson scored in countermouve for 18:15. The team coached by Noka Serdarusic lived their best period in the last quarter of the confrontation, when they had two times a consistent advantage of 7 goals, 27: 20 (50.) and 29:22 (53.) In the last 7 minutes, Szilagyi and Zeitz replaced Lövgren and Kavticnik and Nikola played only in the defence. Despite of a certain lack of homogeneity in attack, used by TBV, who scored three goas in a row (from 29:22 to 29:25), the home squad won by 5 in the end.
