06.01.09 - Victory over Essen for the leadership

THW Kiel won with 34:25 (18:14) the make up game against TUSEM Essen, counting for the 27th round of the Bundesliga. A win who brought them back the first position in the ranking, who should remain only theirs until 17th May.


The Zebras missed some very easy chances to score and the guests were in lead after 13 minutes with 8:6. In this period of the game, Thierry Omeyer, Nikola and Stefan Lövgren were on the bench, but not for long. Noka Serdarusic had to count on Niko und Stefan, which met his expectations, asissting especially Marcus Ahlm. In this way, THW equalised after 17 minutes (8:8), took the lead and extended it until the half time to 4 goals, 18:14.
In the second half, the hosts scored three times in a row (21:14) and the match was over after 35 minutes. During the dispute, Kiel had a maximum advance of 10 goals and won by 9, 34:25. Even if he was not the goalscorer of his team´and despite of his only 3 goals, Niko was brilliant as assists player with Ahm as main beneficiary...
