I was born in Yugoslavia (today Serbia), in Nis, where my father Branko, a former goalkeeper from the former National Team of Yugoslavia has played for a long period of time.
Then, in 1984, the year when I was born, my father went to play for Strasbourg (France), the team he had trained later. Together with my mother we commuted between Nis and Strasbourg until 1988, the year we moved to France (the year when my elder brother, Luka, was born).

I assisted to every match of my father’s team, sometimes I had been present there even for trainings. It was there where I discovered and I learned handball. At that time I must have been 5 or 6 years old.
I had my first player licence in Colmar, where I had played between 1990 and 1992. It was my first handball experience: first matches, first victories, first defaites.
After that, in 1992, we moved again, this time from L’Alsace to the region of Montpellier, to be precise, to Frontignan. My father was the manager and the coach from Thau.
