The Zebras dominated the game from the beginning until the end. After 5 minutes, they got a three goal lead (6:3) and succeeded fastly to extend it after 20 minutes at 8 goals (14:6). Leaded by a fantastic Stefan Lövgren, the home team went in the dressing room with a nine goals advantage (18:9), surprisingly only for those who were not in Sparkassen- Arena...
The second half was a copy of the first one, with Alfred Gislason´s team in consistent advance, of 12 goals, after 39 minutes (23:11). Kiel allowed themselves the luxury of replacing after 38 minutes Titi Omeyer in goal with the youngster Andreas Palicka and both goalies came together a great saves percentage: 48, 7%!
In such conditions, everything what the visitors could do was to try to reduce this margin, but they only managed to come to 10 goals with one minute to go (31:21). The last word belonged to Kiel, Klein and Zeitz scored for 33:21, the final score.
