A fantastic Stefan Lövgren (18/8 goals) and a great Andreas Palicka (17 saves) were decisive for Kiel´s victory in Mannheim, 42:40 with Rhein-Neckar Löwen. The next round, on Tuesday, at 20:25, THW will play on home soil TV Großwallstadt.
In a incredible fast match, the hosts were the one who started better, being in lead with 2,3 goals in the first 14 minutes. THW´s coach, Alfred Gislason, changed the 6:0 defence into a 5:1, with Dominik Klein on top of it. The task to disturb Karol Bielecki, who was the most dangerous shoter of the opponent, was successful and Kiel got the lead for the first time: 13:12/ 16. From that moment, the visitors assured themselves a margin of two goals, who they conserved to the entrance in the dressing room at the break. The best man of the first 30 minutes was without a doubt Stefan Lövgren, who has already scored 10 times!
In the following 30 minutes the German Champions extended their advance to 6 goals (29:35/46., 31:37/49.), but the Lion fought back into the dispute and within two minutes to play the Zebras had only one goal in front, 40:39.
