08.01.09 - Nikola out with shoulder injury for 14 days!
Unfortunately, Nikola will be not able to play in the next two weeks, this is the conclusion of the medical examination today. The diagnostic: overstrain of the right shoulder with bursahygrom sinews irritation. Very sad!
"The damages are painful, we can´t count on him in the near future. When the healing process will go normally, he will be out for 14 days. A surgery is not necessary for this moment", said the THW´s doctor Detlev Brandecker.
What everybody feared has happened: Nikola will not play against Drammen in the Champions League today (19 o´clock) and will miss other games as well. His poor percentage, 1/6, against Czech Republic on last Sunday in the France defeat in Brno (29:32) is very easy to explain. And even seeing himself unable to shot as usually, the best player in the world was useful to this team, giving 8 assists.
Nikola: "I have pains and the examination yesterday confirmed the origin of the pain. I will rest now, I will follow the doctor advices and we will see what happens. A thing is clear, it is out of question a premature comeback on the field. These injuries ruin my life, so from now on I will take all the time necesarry, no matter how long it will be, to cure. And if I must undergo surgery, I will do it."
